Reception is generally open 24 hours a day during high season from May to September, in low season we offer extended service hours of reception and generally close at 00:00 (midnight). We can however make arrangements for late checkin.

Do not have curfews.

The simplest way to make a reservation is through our Reservations page or through any of the ‘GET A ROOM’ buttons throughout our website.  Once a booking is made, you will receive an email confirmation.

We have a strict 48 hr. cancellation policy year-round whereby all cancellations must be made by 12:00pm on the day prior to the check in date.

You can call us or e-mail your cancelation to guest.services@pied-a-terre.info. We prefer e-mail because we are able to follow-up more efficiently and we have a written note advising and granting us the rigth to sell your bed.

In Montreal, during the high season (April 1 – January 3) there is a 48-hour cancellation deadline.  During the low season (January 4 – March 31) the cancellation deadline is 24 hours.

At any location, if you made a reservation without a deposit and you plan to check in later than 6:00pm, you must contact the hostel to put a deposit down to hold your room.

No membership is required to stay at our hostels.

In Montreal, all hostels except Aylwin's Loft offer the following discounts:  $2.00 off with ISIC card; 5% off with VIP Backpackers card.  We also give 10% off with Integrated Nutrition cards.

At Aylwin's Loft, we can offer $1.00 off for ISIC and VIP Backpackers cards.

IATA card holders can receive a 50% off for entire stay.  Please note that this is applicable to the holder of the card ONLY and is not transferable.  Card holders can receive the discount only be presenting their card and a photo ID upon check in.

The price always includes free linens, towels and housekeeping. Frequently we will have a special promotions that include additional services such as free breakfast and/or long distance. This is subject to availability of service and we can not be held responsible for the occasional internet outages as we have no control over them.

Tax is NOT included in the listed price.  Quebec tax is 13.375%.  This amount will be added to your total balance at time of check in.

Payments can be made by American Express, cash,  money order, bank certified or travelers checks.  Please note that we charges a $1 processing fee for all credit and debit card transactions.

Sorry, all reservations must be paid in full upon arrival.  If your plans do change simply give the front desk a 24 hour notice and provided that your reservation falls under the extended stay policy of 7 days or more,  you will be reimbursed for the remainder of the reservation.

Yes, but all refunds are reimbursed on credit/debit card.  We are unable to give cash refunds.  If you did not your American Express card to pay for your stay,  we will mail you a refund check, which takes approximately 2-3 weeks.

1.  What time is Check-in and Check-out?
In New York, check in time is 2:00pm.  Check out time is 11:00am.  There is a $15 Late Checkout charge for checkout after 11:00am.

2.  Is there a Curfew?
Nope.  Never.

3.  Does the Hostel allow… 

Un-chaperoned youth under 18 year of age?
At our Quebec location, youth under 18 can make a reservation if they submit a faxed parental consent form.

Non-paying visitors?
All individuals spending time at Jazz Hostels must be paying guests.  If you are expecting any visitors, please make plans to meet at the lobby and spend time together outside the building.

Quebec residents?
Residents of Quebec cannot stay at any of our New York locations.  But, please visit us in South Beach, Miami.

Smoking in the rooms?
All indoor areas at all are smoke-free.  Please feel free to use our outdoor terraces and roof desks to smoke.

Pets?
Jazz Hostels can only accommodate pets who assist people with special needs.  Please note that guests with pets must reserve private rooms only.

Yes, we can hold your luggage for $4.00-$5.00 per bag, per day

As a general rule, the Hostels is never responsible for accepting or collecting mail for guests.  As a courtesy, we can hold mail for up to a week, after which point it will be returned to the sender.  If you are expecting mail to be sent to you, please make sure the item clearly states "(YOUR NAME) - GUEST."  Please also let the Front Desk staff know that you are expecting something to arrive. help illustrate the information you're providing.

An ensuite room is a bedroom with attached bathroom.

We offers a combination of private and dorm rooms.  Please visit the Location pages for details about each specific hostel.

3.  Can children stay at Hostel?
Young children are welcome as long as they are supervised by a parent or guardian.  If you are traveling with children under 10 years of age, we ask that you book a private room.
